Simulator Visual System Support
Brochures
Through shared technologies and infra-structure developed initially for its avionic display business, Thomas is also able to offer technical support for simulator-related display systems, including component overhaul for simulator displays and visual systems used in both commercial and military flight simulators.
In addition, Thomas also designs and manufactures facsimile display units as per the specific requirements of clients who need alternative solutions for their simulator applications. These capabilities are not limited to avionic systems, but also include simulators for weapon platforms such as the Australian Light Armoured Vehicle (ASLAV).

Projection Tubes.jpg)
BenefitsCathode Ray Tube (CRT) projection systems provide the ultimate in visual fidelity for the most demanding, simulation and entertainment applications, offering excellent resolution, high contrast ratios, as well as good representation of point light sources.
Inevitably, after 12-18 months of usage, operators need to replace their projection CRTs. Deterioration in performance is marked by uneven lighting, poor resolution, alignment problems, thermal drift and low light output, resulting in degrading of the simulator’s visual fidelity.
With 51 years of experience in CRT technology, Thomas offers a wide range of projection tube support solutions, focusing on maximising performance, improving efficiencies, reducing downtime, at prices significantly lower than the OEMs’.
Projection CRTs
Thomas Electronics offers a broad capability in a wide range of Projection CRTs for use in simulation and entertainment applications, and can be matched to customer’s specific requirements.

Projection Assembly Overhaul
Projection CRTs can also be overhauled. The Thomas initiative maximises the value of the operator’s original investment by recognising the inherent serviceability of the CRT assembly to extract full value. The overhauled CRT assembly is returned in “as new” condition, identical in form, fit and function to the original part. The performance of the overhauled assembly matches the performance and life of the OEM product. For more info, please contact us on 8723 6500 or projects@thomas.com.au
